Bose buying McIntosh for Luxury sound!

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/11/19/bose-buys-mcintosh-storied-maker-of-high-end-luxury-audio-equipment.html
Seems interesting that work acquire a Luxury sound company from a Private Equity firm. Bose may do alright if they can keep their Consumer Electronics management out of engineering decisions.

Woke DEI ki-led Bose ...along with incompetent lousy managers.

Thankfully, it's now being purged for the cancer that it is. Bose will no doubt be the last to get the memo after the rest of the world has realigned with sanity.

Bose Corporation has filed 122 labor condition applications for H1B visa and 19 labor certifications for green card from fiscal year 2020 to 2022. Bose was ranked 1696 among all visa sponsors. Please note that 1 LCA for H1B Visa and 1 LC for green card have been denied or withdrawn during the same period.

"Increasing company value. So the Board of directors get the most money when Bose folds up and sells everything off in 3 to 5 years"

That's the only thing that makes any real sense depending upon how the deal was financed. Since the piggy bank was supposedly not exactly over-flowing, did Bose borrow to pay for it? And, if Bose diminishes these brands (a high likelihood) over the next 3 to 5 years, then value is lost. Given how Bose has run itself so far into the ground that they may as well be drilling for oil at this point, the chances of them maximizing or creating greater value through these brands is slim at best. The Bose "leadership" team are not the brightest of bulbs, and to call them incompetent is an expression of generosity. Just seems like so much more wood for the fire.

Do you think they will use Flex, Merry or Tymphany to make these high end speakers? LOL

"Bose enters the high-end luxury audio market" is one of the most comical and absurd headlines ever. Try to gain respectability by buying a dying brand is a classic post-Amar blunder, like something that Hess might have done. Sell Pro Products, and buy Macintosh. It's hilarious, unless you're an employee.

I don't see how this works in the long term. For an audio company that has been in the business for over half a century, hasn't produced anything close to an audiophile product in its history, and ran its own stereo business into the ground, how do they think they can possibly understand the true high-end product or its customer? This is a real head-scratcher.

Bose sold off its own innovative products like Project sound because they couldn't make the business work. But, they found the money to buy into a market they've never played in and spent most of the last 60 years saying was unnecessary. Audiophiles also are not fans of Bose in the least, so it is conceivable that these very niche customers may lose interest in these brands now that they are owned by the company that has been an audiophile punchline for longer than I've been alive. If you listen closely you can hear them groaning right now.

I'm a realist/cynic. Bose can no longer "do", so they're buying a company that actually can, and will likely diminish those brands under the umbrella in time if they run them anything remotely like they've managed the Bose brand. Really bizarre, and it makes me feel bad for McIntosh and the other brands. I don't see how this bodes well for their futures.

Where did Bose get the money to buy anything? I thought cash was still tight? Even though we got back to positive cash flow, the coffers have been greatly depleted. We are financing deals like this with what? Hopes and Dreams

It's been well established that Bose Consumer Electronics group has lost its skillset to create captivating home audio for quite some time. Headsets and earbuds have been their focus for the past 5 -6 years and their ability to achieve good manufacturing has been hurting them. It looks like McInstosh's higher quality standards, and good manufacturing in European CM's will go a long way to help Bose rebrand itself. This is a huge plus for Bose!
