with the recently announced outsourcing deal to cap gemini there will be (or, should we say 'already took place') some layoffs in it (mis division) and finance. the overall goal is to keep key business folks aligned with cap but most of the it staff would be let go. needles to say that several hundred jobs will be eliminated - now, all what we need to see is how cap is going to manage the transition and if they will be able to deliver. the overall consensus is that this will be yet another outsourcing flow, but let's wait and see what happens in warner's case as the jury is still out. the biggest looser in this deal is definitely deloitte consulting - they sucked warner's blood for almost a decade by deeply penetrating cfm and the sap operations. now, with cap in, deloitte is out with nowhere to go. cheers, selma
