#PGLayoffs - Cincinnati Layoffs - there will be up to 6000 people laid off from P&G very soon (I guess we can say that 2 years time horizon = very soon). At this point in time we do not know how many will be here in Cincinnati, but I am sure some layoffs will happen her. Over last three years we cut about 10,000 jobs, this both in the office and manufacturing jobs. So, overall, we cut about 20% of all office jobs already, that'll bring us to total of 25% to 30% of office jobs by mid-2017. Needless to say, our profits are still in billions, so at least shareholders are happy (or not?)

Well, it's clear P&G has some very talented people in the technical, science and manufacturing roles. I have worked with many over the years and these people make the products what they are. BUT, let's take a hard look at you career marketing genius types. I always said the reason a tube of toothpaste costs close to $4.00 is because of all of the OVERPAID marketing people. Without you there the price would be 30% of that number. They are always easy to spot, 26 and on top of the world...but the fact of the matter is they are not worth 25% of what they are paid. The women in these roles I found particularly annoying and that's not just the one I was married to. Arrogant, self-serving, and egotistical is an understatement. Wow, just because you went to some college and graduated at or near the top of your class doesn't make you smart, in fact in most cases, you are just a rote learner at best. You people have been living in a FANTASY world, where you think every late 20 something makes $125K per year. If your lights went off tomorrow and you were handed a rifle and had to fend for yourself it is likely you would perish in short order...this is because your skill-set ends at rote learning. Face it, you are not needed to sell toothpaste or Tide. Those of us who work hard, spent 2X as long as you did in college and actually have a viable set of skills are tired of hearing about your continual whining about playing one boss against the other, looking for your next big promotion, telling us we don't make enough money, etc. Hey, genius types, guess what, not everybody has the desire to be a tool-bag in a Lexus or live in a $600K+ house in Montgomery where all of your genius colleagues live and boast about how smart they are. Suck it up, you all made your bed by demanding and promoting bull$hit roles that pay you far in excess of what you'll ever actually be worth at even the very the tail end of your career. It's unfortunate the hard working people (technical, engineers, support roles, etc.) have to take it in the posterior because of your greedy and insistent selfish ways, people I know included in this group. Hard working people are getting cut because of your greed. Best of luck finding another fantasy land job. Reading your Linked In profiles is downright comical...I mean you would think that each and every one of you is the marketing genius behind the entire organization. The fact of the matter is you are a tiny cog on a huge gear. Just remember, some of us were around before Pampers and your parents sure knew about Tide and Downy before your seed was planted. Perhaps it's time for me to sell that last bit of P&G I've been holding all these years...after all it just isn't moving and you're the reason.

30% is Huge! That's almost a third. Are P&Gians trembling in their shoes, waiting for the ax to fall? What about all those mortages and car loans they have to service? Since they are so highly paid, even if they manage to find another job, it will be a pay cut for sure.
