Thread regarding Manulife Financial Corp. layoffs

laid off a few years back, applying to go back, but now kept being rejected

I don't understand, rejected from postings that has the same title as the one I was let go for before?...

Is it the economy?

could someone who gave us hard time before also leave negative comments in my file permanently to prevent me being hired back?

if it is so, that is heartless

You're blacklisted- most companies never hire a former employee

I was told by HR that I could reapply as well but then I was told by an AVP the "do not rehire" box was ticked off for every single person laid off. Do you really want to work for a deceitful and corrupt company with a long history of dirty business practices? You're better off anywhere else but Manulife.

As a people manager at Manulife, I know anyone who got a package has had the do not rehire indicator on the HR system workday updated. You will never be re-hired. They likely didn't leave any negative comments on your Workday record. But they most certainly did select the DNH inidicator. Don't feel too bad about being let go. You got a package that met the minimum statutory requirement and most importantly you got an early discharge from Manulife.

A little naive aren't we. You were discarded like a piece of used toilet paper. Move on. They have.

They sent you a message when they let you go - they do not want you. They probably sugarcoated it by saying, oh - you can reapply, in reality IT NEVER HAPPENS, they simply did not want you around and move on.
