30% to 40% layoffs company wide is supposedly in the works and NXP asking for it to be done before they officially take over so they share no blame. By October 1st or Nov. 1st. Any comments on this from others?

Several software people I know have recently been terminated, they are seeking new jobs. The projects they worked on have been outsourced to Vietnam of all places. Anyone who buys software from a silicon vendor should have their head examined. These companies do NOT know how to make and support software.
You got the numbers wrong. This was a company where 90% were great people to work with.
A select few, in management, mostly, made it tough for the rest. It started with Michele Mayer, who gave orders to the management team to cook the books in a way that made the future look so bright hat Blackstone overpaid by double for this company. The one time I actually felt bad for a LBO player. All it would take is one good forensic accountant to recreate the paper trail, and Mayer would be in jail, along with the managers complicit in this fraud.
As for the rest, once management is replaced, I wish them the best, a return to focusing on the technology. But, Motorola Semi is gone, and I'm still in mourning.
Sensor should be wiped out with networking. Big %, most others OK.
I hope they lay off 90%. Freescale sucks and they treat people like dirt.
