Our PMO is the best PMO crew on the plannet

You can thank PMO for not having any of projects completed for a smooth merger. On the other hand, corporate IT for DTV and AT&T worked together and the friday the merger happened by that night DTVs Exchange servers were showing the company directory for started all DTV and AT&T employees worldwide. That was the only thing that went smooth so people could get names, cross reference them with LinkedIn profiles so they could figure out who to infiltrate.
Let that sink in for a bit. That was the smartest thing they did. It helped them prepare for the end of this year. It's going to be a bloodbath.
The former DirecTV engineering prior to 2005 was great. They were the one pioneering the whole sat delivery idea.
The new DTV management after 2005 got rid of them and hired a bunch of incompetent "engineers" (they were technicians, actually. Look at their resume !). They are so incompetent that they could not do anything and hired contractors to do their job, so that they could blame them when things go wrong.
I said several years ago: there is no way Directv could survive by itself with these clowns ! OTOH, if AT&T could not figure out a way to merge sat del platform to its U-verse, then Ergen will kill you all in the next 5 years.
I am with AT&T, I am on the network engineering side. I can tell you that we are not that great, we cannot integrate two systems two. I know you guys have your own issues, but just wanted to make sure you know that the grass is not greener over here - our engineering is slow and riddled with quality issues. It took us 16 years to figure out a single sign on option for customers, granted it's complex, but still, 16 years man...
LOL....PMO ? NSA ? CIA ? Which clown would come up with this crap ? AT&T will rip them apart, one by one. Who needs the video streaming group when AT&T has UVerse ? There is no way they could handle seamless integration between 2 systems, since they were so incompetent. AT&T management will fire DirecTV useless middleman and do it themselves.
Yeah they're right up there with the Network & Systems Architecture (NSA) and Common Infrastructure Architecture (CIA) groups. I kid you not! These groups act like the SS more than anything else. What a bunch of clowns! Oh wait, how about Broadcast Operations Network Integration (BONI)? I'll leave it to your imagination how it's pronounced. Who comes up with this crap? At least the BONI people have a good sense of humor and are way easier to work with than the PMO, NSA or CIA. I hope AT&T changes this all the way through the whole organization. Imagine having any of those acronyms on your business card or in your email signature. Sophomoric!
