Thread regarding Moog Inc. layoffs

Worst Managed Place In America

The Company is run off the inertia developed way back in 1951, this company has NOT grown Organically since and has drifted into good luck. the Workforce is Lazy, negligent and incompetent, everyone is related to everyone in the place, it's Appalachia in East Aurora, NY....No Security, as a National Defense Contractor you, anyone can walk in no guards no turnstiles, just let ISIS in to take out the National Defense Machine this company supplies, they are Grossly Negligent, they go by a phony philosophy "Trust and Mutual Confidence" tell that to Jihadi,, we trust you'll stay out.....Internally the Workforce is not behaved well and they act as their Master Leaders, Spoiled....As an Acquisition Company no longer an engineering company it needs to be demised in order to save the tax payers cost on bad inefficient processes, Moog has a Cash Flow problem, they can not make deliveries and can not ship product, they live off of R&D "Cost Plus" Programs to cover for the losses...

Relatively decent pay ,but managers should be academically schooled and trained to be humble. When a high school people are in charge over college undergraduates and graduates ,you do not expect at anything good. Unfortunately there are too many cronies (people related to each other) who do not do much for the development of the company. In addition to that ,those people are highly paid. What a waste of financial and human resources !. Communication , I mean lack of communication is another big issue. And yes, people learn to stab each other back. That is not a culture of collaboration , it is a culture of distrust. Fortunately for me, I have gotten well with engineers and with some managers.

i can't believe how this place is run.

India is incompetent. everything is done spread sheets without understanding how long things take.

we fix india stuff here (major things that take $$$ to correct) but they bury it so no one sees the cost.]

All the above is true and then some. I left MOOG due to all the BS and the management is a JOKE period! I see all the cash being wasted in the Philippines and that area cannot even make any logical discussions.

I worked for over 40 years at Moog and decided to retire because of how much this company had deteriorated in the way they treat people and especially how they treat what they call temporary help that they keep in that status for years and never hiring them. They do this to protect themselves when they need to downsize without reporting a layoff.

Yes when I worked there the joke was who am I related to. The best employees see the hand writing on the wall and leave because they are not buddies with bosses. John S. the CEO is in way over his head and does not have a clue but his Irish mafia cronies will stay in power. Surprised because it was an open secret that Moog Ireland always had the worst quality and poorest delivery of any business unit within the corporation!

Allot of what that person said is true but I would never call the workforce lazy unless you are referring to the family members of family members that work there. This group of employees tend to feel they are entitled and do not have to work that hard. Ok, Lets not forget the cronies of management who were hired because they know someone. For example, Pat Roach works for John Scannel because they worked in Ireland tomorrow. However, it goes deeper than that because Pat stood up in Johns wedding. There is no way John would let his best man go no matter what. Therefore, it results I poor management from the top down. Also a secure system will go on the doors shortly. ISIS will be mad at that. As for deliveries they are late on product. That is because they laid off the good workers and now realize it was a mistake because Product cannot be built with an in adequate labor force. It comes down to PPP(Piss Poor Planning), I have much more I could say but I do not want to write a book about it. Good Luck Moog non-family and friends Employees!

Everything the previous postee said it true or appears to be true, and I am currently employed by moog. It's the worst company I have ever worked for, (other than the pay), they do pay well. Question is is it worth all the 'BS'. I'm about to deal with a situation right now...here we gooo, lol. Thanks for the politically correct post...I couldn't have said it better.
