Thread regarding Yahoo! Inc. layoffs

Do you guys still read Tech Pulse Papers?

I was in Yahoo in US and moved to Yahoo in India. I had an offer in Dec 2014 to relocate to the US or take 9 months of salary (3 months of severance, 3 months of tech transfer, 2 months of bonus and 1 month additional that all employees got).

The money part got me out of poverty as I have closed my home loan and on the job front, the world of Data Science and technology opened up.

Instead of being happy of being an IC-5 in Sunnyvale with 180K salary, my Indian salary almost doubled in 1 year and I am doing real Data Science and no ETL Bull Shit. I actually influence my employer's bottom line.

I have worked on Similarity, B-Clustering, Real Poisson's process and Predictive Analytics ... things that could only be a stupid tech pulse papers at Yahoo.

Yeah knuckle head ... the "Third world" has more exciting opportunities in software engineering and data science than the overrated silicon valley has today.

In 10 years, some American software Engineers will be exploring jobs in India and waiting in line for Visas in the Indian Embassy in SF. Trust me its happening.
