To kick off 2016, we are introducing a new approach to the Company paid holidays and employee’s floating days. The number of days, per non-union employee, does not change from ten but we are structuring the days differently. Non-union employees will get nine Company paid holidays and one floating holiday. Additionally, the revised 2016 Holiday Calendar will be standardized across all of our markets.
Tribune Publishing is a 24/7 workplace and countless employees across the country are dedicated to delivering exceptional products to customers every day of the year, including holidays. Holiday pay will extend to the new 2016 Calendar and employees will be compensated for holiday work accordingly.
The 2016 holiday dates are included in the Payroll Calendar, available on TribLink here and as follows:
· January 1: New Year’s Day
· January 18: Martin Luther King Day
· February 15: President’s Day
· May 30: Memorial Day
· July 4: Independence Day
· September 5: Labor Day
· November 24: Thanksgiving Day
· November 25: Day After Thanksgiving
· December 26: Christmas Day Observation
Paid holidays for union employees are covered by their collective bargaining agreements and may be different from those given to non-union employees.
