My Dad works there and has worked there his whole life. My Grandma worked there Her whole life til the day she died. As a matter of fact before my Grandma passed away she said whose gonna do the paperwork she cared about her job so much that those were literally one of her last words. She cared so much about the company that she got my Mom and Dad a job there. It makes me so sad that people who have dedicated there lives and so worried about this company to just be thrown to the side. It's just awful to me. I do not condone any of this my family gave their lives to this company. It saddens me
Looks like many were older experienced people. Good old age discrimination.
Baxalta has it's own page here - here's the link: &baxalta
I'm part of the Frac team. Witnesses the layoffs. People being walked out and rushed to their cars by upper management.
I was able to survive the first round of layoffs but not holding my breath. Expecting the worst. Place is like a graveyard. People wondering around scared worried and paranoid.
Saw people who literally dedicated their lives to Baxter walked out. People wondering why my generation puts their career path ahead of the firm's they work at. We job hop because we see that there is no such thing as corporate loyalty.
Management is lying to everyone. Layoffs are just getting started. Security team was notified about layoffs in advance. Little birdie inside security is telling us that there are at least 2 additional layoffs lists.
Job hunting now, before next round of cuts. You should do the same.
I got the Baxalta boot this week. It's far from over. Shire will initiate another round of layoffs.
With a 20% reduction at our plant, by not being cut I find myself being an "unlucky one" too. I would say 1/3 of those cut were really valuable team players that took us by surprise.
Lay Offs Occurred across all Baxalta. About 10% reduction.
"Unlucky" One here too.
What sites and what departments were layed off? Former employee so curious whether they cut the dead wood
Yes 139 and More to Come
Ditto. 105 people at our facility.
139 today
Yes, layoffs just happened. I was one of the unlucky ones.

Agreed - it'll be very tense, IT will be killed in this exercise.
