The newest layoffs will affect Deere facilities in Waterloo, Iowa; the Des Moines Works in Ankeny, Iowa, and the Harvester Works in East Moline, Ill. It represents the third round of layoffs at Deere, which cut more than 1,100 positions in the Midwest last summer as the farm economy slowed.

The economic situation has forced Deere to adjust its business forecasts. The company said in November that it expects $1.9 billion in earnings for fiscal 2015, which was less than analysts expected.

There will only be about 93 wage employees working at seeding group building planters. March 14 is our layoff date. They are indefinitely laying off workers with 12+ years in. It's a terrible place to work now. With CMM cutting job rates, a crappy contract and a shitty union at the seeding group. There is no reason to stay with deere unless you live off there insurance. I will miss many good Union bros and sis. Cipp money will be gone soon to the pay plans that actually make any money. There will prob be no base in the future and they will be running jobs strictly to rate. I don't think the worst is over yet. But hey that just my opinion. Hopefully I'm wrong so they people that are left can still make some money!
