@2bpy. You can still tale unemployment. It's your money. Don't be too prideful from taking money chevron has already paid in to and will not contest when you file.

@GrN5CHO-2lfr

I was ready to retire when this ESP started but I am sticking around just so i can squeeze a few more bucks out of Uncle Chevron. Severance, pension, Social Security and 401K. Nope I wont be on unemployment but i will be taking everything that is due to me. Including pay for 280hrs of vacation, and I have A little CIP to look forward to next year. And I earned every bit of it !

@GrN5CHO-2lfr, You are an obnoxious, selfish, greedy, Idiot "millennial-type" without a clue. You may not be a millennial but that is how some entitled millennials think and behave(not all). "preferential right"???? The math is the same for everyone. There is no preferential treatment given to anyone regardless of age, or proximity to retirement with regards to severance packages. That is no different at any company. If anything, the people who have worked for more years and put in more time deserve it MORE than the short-time fly-by-nights such as yourself. Only a greedy person envious of those who have put in more time and are due to be compensated accordingly would make such a rude comment. There is absolutely no substance to anything in your comment except for your own greed and envy.

I believe you know the answer to that question. Your time will come. More ROMs are coming and sales of assets.

@2lfr, one day you will retire. Remember your conceited words. You're just jealous the OP is into his 60's and ready to retire. Nobody chooses the fate they get. Some people getting laid off happen to hit it lucky as they also get a severance around the time they were thinking of leaving on their own. So what? Luck of the Irish or good Karma. More power to them.

I would say "OP": you are showing your lack of computer savy but no doubt he/she would have no clue I was speaking to him/her.

If you're ready to leave - why not simply retire? Greed? Just thinking to myself. Also believe they should not offer any severance to anyone over 60 due to impending retirement. Bad times doesn't or shouldn't entitle older personnel any preferential right such as severance. If your job is eliminated - and you get laid off - get in line for unemployment like everyone else.

I THINK THAT THEY WOULD OFFER YOU A PACKAGE BUT THEY NEED YOU DUE TO YOUR EXPERTISE IN USING THE "CAPS LOCK" KEY.

once the oil prices goes up, Upstream will be profitable again and Downstream will suffer. maybe then they will have a Downstream ROM/RAE/ESP/etc. and you can do a EOI (expression of interest)

OP, severance packages are for anyone who Chevron lays off for lack of work, whether that person is older or younger than 62. Congratulations to you for all your work during your career. Retirement time had come to you on your own terms. Setting your own time to retire is 100 times more fulfilling than any severance amount can provide. May your dreams come true and you lead a long and healthy life with family and friends.
