Have people laid off earlier in the year found positions?

I've heard many cases where employees are waiting for a package. The only way you will get one is if they eliminated your job. I have heard employees begging to be let go and were told they can quit if they wish. This is to eliminate paying out any severance.

Legacy employee had many great years and honestly, the last 8 were a joke. Transformation... Integration... federated/integrated back to federated, etc. Out with the first wave. It really was an ideal situation to get that package. Basically you receive at least half year severance after all the taxes were met. Best of luck to you all. I hope you find your "place".

First deal was the best deal. If you didn't take it you were a fool. Going forward, will just torture employees into leaving to save the severance cost

Where I am we haven't heard anything about severances, I think they are seeing if we will quit first.... Lots of us are waiting for that package....

Also left Chubb, found a job that started a week after end date. Pocketed severance and got a $15k salary increase. I thought the entire layoff process with Chubb was positive and they were very generous. My advice...don't let the grass grow under your feet. Get active with the outsourcing company, set up LinkedIn and start hitting the pavement. Stay positive. You will be moving on before you know it!

Left Chubb, pocketed the severance, started new gig immediately @ higher pay.

Quite amazing with all this coddling we keep hearing about but most doing quite well. And then of course the head hunters have a field day.
