Arris Horsham has laid off some upper management VP's and Directors. The absence of these positions will not make much of an impact on the facility or even be noticed. The positions were basically old school buddies from the General Instrument days who Golfed there way into these promotions in the first place. I see more of these old school management Layoff's coming down the road. Arris has shown the ability to recognize hard working leaders and promote them into key positions at the Horsham facility. There is still a lot of old upper management weeds in the garden that need to be removed from the Arris Horsham facility. Hopefully the new leadership positions will provide the best direction for the future of our company.

If this is Arris's idea of being lean and mean the mind boggles as to what they are like before the layoffs earlier this year. They need a Pulli type guy or some serious competition to knock them into shape.
If you're going to wish for anyone to be gone, wish for Bruce McCelland to go (though I think it would take a miracle for that to happen). He has no vision and does not invest in businesses. He seems to think all jobs can/should migrate to India - except senior management, of course.
I wouldn't wish for Picard to be gone....the theory is, when Picard goes, Lowell goes (probably to India). He's actually fought hard to keep things in Lowell and to save people. Just keep your head down and try to avoid his inner circle.
I wish gary picard is also laid off!
No wonder I could never get a job there with so many years experience in defense, telecom and semiconductors. It helps when someone clarifies Horsham Arris or GI or Jerrold was filled with bozos ! At least someone was honest enough to finally state it.
See..... you didn't even notice they were gone !!!
Maybe they can get jobs at Computer Science Corporation (CSC) since they liked out sourcing everyone else to them !! There are several more do nothing duds in upper management positions from the old General Instrument days that need to be removed from here as well. They just don't do anything, and keep putting there old buddies in Management positions. One guy became a manager over 2 people and then laid one off. A Manager with one employee in the department ! ... Really !
The problem with all there "Processes" started years ago with some women who was fired at Unisys came to General Instrument with a copy of a process sheet that some other poor guy designed. Oh.. they thought she invented it and was wonderful. She eventually became a VP through this. She also brought in about 50 of her buddies and all them became supervisors and managers including her husband. He was hired to hand out parts (diodes and resistors) to the bench engineers, and then ended up with several Director positions that were all self created and never posted to the other employees. One old goat she brought in was the most ignorant human with the intelligence level of a Donkey. When asked how she knew the VP she said she use to baby sit her daughter !! General Instrument hired the worst of the available VP's in the business and they all had 2 to 6 Million Dollar parachute packages back in the day. They would come and get asked to leave after a horrible job they did and walk away with millions. No wonder after Motorola took on General Instrument they went down hill and folded. Anyway, some of those buddies are still sitting in the Manager offices today!
Oops ... !!!! they deserve it.
Which business group/team ?
