Lots of rumours rumbling of sh-- news for both Leeds and Longford plants. Seems the takeover isn't going to end well there.

Not surprised it has shut, shop floor and workforce was organised but when to visiting the factory but there was far too many chief's onsite and offsite who stopped any information being forthcoming
Left there years ago, place full of backstabbing counts. Orange, dimmock , tate etc
Im sorry to say but every cloud and a siler line, there will be plenty of parking spaces in the morning when 600 are gone... LOL
I KNOW NOT FUNNY!!!
Oh so they r leaving engineering dept at Longford. No wonder they wouldnt want to loose all the IP taxed in the tax heaven. The amounts of carried forward losses during past couple of years should be sufficient to keep going for years without having to pay any taxes. So stop paying the bonuses to the tax directors and those who do the creative transfer pricing bull sh*t bingo.... save the same money to the people with the families who were doing all the leg work for you until now.
Left the job in Leeds a while back but that was start of the layoffs session (pre slb times) so the onesubsea pockets could still afford a decent payout for the leavers in redundacy packages. But now with the mass redundancies and reading about the SLB previous layoffs, it seems more like the statutory payouts as best and no further goodwill gestures.... think the statutory is a weeks pay for every year of service for 12 years if someone has been employed for longer than 2 years. After 12 years its a week and half wage. Also, its impacted by the age of the employee according to the UK employment law. £30k is the statutory tax free and there after is taxed.... thpuhjt to share in case someone finds it useful. Well, feel for some really good friends in there whom are facing this mess and no doubt all the good employees will be asked to leave and the ar*s lickers will remain. Nothing new there is there? All the best folks and lets hope job market behaves which brexit is making a little difficult right now....
Is the dude that made the announcement special needs or something? He f---ing seemed that way.
The office in Leeds is staying.............for now
Longford and Leeds have to align and together fight for the biggest payout ever for every employee union member or not
In both plants
Both Langord and Leeds will be shedding lots of people. They might as well just close them both down. They both have to go through the "consult" phase, but they have already made the decision.
Take it to the bank!
entire leeds including engineering will be shut down?
Bl4ke the sn4ke strikes again
O yes it is 100% closing down
Management won't come out right and say it as they legally have to enter a "consultation period" but the plan is to have the Longford plant wound down by the end of Q2 2017 - only engineering will remain.

Unfortunately management announced this morning leeds is to close down.
Glad I left Leeds. Leave the industry and find a more stable job. It will be hard but least you don't have to put up with this crap
This whole site is a sh--show and if anyone is coming here to get "good" info then shame on you. Stay away from the rumor mill and focus on your job and maybe you won't have to worry about what Layoff.com has to say. Give me a break.
how about longford?
Leeds is 100% not closing any time soon
