Yep, the fact that keeping your job means keeping the little blue shirt [email protected]@rds happy at any cost........ Fraud and mistakes. Butts in seats at all costs. Right Duane? Butts in seats.
Pass them, teach the tests and help them to succeed. At least long enough to keep your job and get paid. If they hour out, prepare to defend yourself. Many, many good people have lost their jobs trying to do the right thing. They dont want the right thing, they want the cash.
Wait till they get nailed and lose their Title V funding. It will be all over then.
I worked at the Ranch for several years and the statements I have seen are very accurate. This is one of the reasons why students can not keep a job once they get one. The message of being late or not showing up employers will not tolerate. What is the message that is being taught here. They also have instructors who don,t show up half the time and management seems to praise them. Now they have to find someone to cover the class and if you have an appointment they expect you to cancel it and cover for someone who misses several times a month. Instead of talking to that individual they get mad at you for not covering the class.The students know they have the power over the instructor and as an instructor you have absolutely no support. You have ed managers that should have been fired long ago and I could give out names but I wont. You have the students running the school.At the Ranch they have one instructor in HOT rod that was an EM and they put him in Hot Rod and he has zero experience working in cars. He is not only not experienced he is also a lousy individual. Horrible roll model as most of them are that are left. The students have been running this campus for several years.Good luck to the good people who are left.
That was well said, I fall into the category of the instructor who pushed back on their system of passing students who failed, houred out, disciplinary problems, couldn't read or spell, and the list goes on. They fired me. Once they tried to get me to lie about another instructor so he would get fired, that's some scandalous sh-- there. U.T.I is built on lies, they lie to you in your interview to work there, they make you work double shifts, if you say you cant they put you on nights only. Some of the instructors were dumber than the students, and that is a fact. Good luck on finding jobs when the ship finally sinks.
They are going to tread water untill they get nailed by the feds. The relentless push to put butts in seats will be one of their downfalls. Another will be the relentless push to graduate some of these loser kids. Instructors want to keep their jobs right? Get bad student evaluations = lose your job. Result? Every student passes and management is happy and rewards the instructor. Make it hard on the student? Student files false complaint on the instructor and they are fired. Student hours out? These guys make up reasons to pass them. Sometimes makeups are done is a different class or even after the class is done. Audit a gradebook a week after class starts, you will find grades entered for tasks they havent done yet. I have seen it. Falsifying records is illegal but the people there dont care. Ask Dave V. under oath. He knows this is true but wants to keep his job. That place is a sh!tsh0w.
Define over, are the FEDS going to shut the school down? or are the doors going to close from within? or are they going to run 2 or 3 campuses on a limited budget? They will need to get rid of Kim and all her stealing, thieving V.P's and find somebody that can actually run a school that produces a quality technician, not the crap they are turning out now.
It had a good run but it's about over now.
People hate their jobs now. The company is broke and eating its self from within. I was there yesterday and the offices are empty. They are using what they have and getting by. If they need something they scavenge around for what will get them by. Sad. They will continue to fall further and further behind.
The stock is going to open today with a 10% gap drop. Its just a matter of time. All the big investors are moving out and the penny stock traders are moving in.
it's time to be looking for another job folks. It's the titanic. There are still many good people who know they are next on the list. Get out while you can!! Management is a joke- Sacramento campus has a new CP that told the Sacramento Bee that she is the first female CP. All she is doing is marketing herself. she is the 3rd not the first! Bad karma to those that lie cheat and steal. Students suffer while the true workers get let go.
Anyone who is laid off now is lucky employees who are left behind have mountains of work dumped on them for no increase in pay or job security. In fact they may have waited too long as the company has about run out of money and the ability to offer a severance package. So they will put out this tremendous effort to keep the place running and their reward will be a pink slip with no severance. Everyone should be looking for new jobs. Everyone.
We lost bad in FY16. This will be bad. Wait and see.
everyone is waiting for the next shoe to drop no one is thinking about the job or students at all. the school died it's just taking a while for everyone to realize it.
Talked to a person that works in FA at the Sacramento Campus. Person said things are a MESS. HCM has been there since Monday. From what I was told UTI is in some HOT water.
What do past employees have to do with anything? If they had something they would have put it out there. People leave there becaues the ship is sinking and something better comes along. Them laying people off is doing those people a favor. UTI is a sinking ship with too few lifeboats. Those that were laid off were just given a seat on one of the lifeboats and are better off sailing into the sunset and watching that ship sink from far away. I know alot of people who have left there on their own and all of them are better off. Not having to sit around and wait for the water to end up on their office floor while the ship slowly goes down. And thats what they do, sit around and wait for the next layoff doing just enough to not get fired before that happens. UTI contenues to make the same mistakes, what is this the fourth or fifth layoff they have gone through? They will just hire more people and promote more of their cronies to VP positions. They protect their friends and overwork everyone left and thoes people do the work becaues they want to keep their job the next time the layoffs come around. The good days of UTI are long gone and will never be back. I am sure the founders would be sickened to see what their scool has become and what has become of their legacy. I atteneded there 30+ years ago and had a great carreer. I worked there for years and it was great but I worked in CTG and always was aware of the newest material. Some of the instructors are light years ahead of others and will have no problems finding work, others are screwed. They are no better than the students they trained. Good luck UTI. I hate to see it end this way but with the stock touching 1.50 and still dropping and the earnings call coming soon I am sure it will get worse from here forward. I think we will see campuses being shuttered soon. Its just a matter of time.
If the Feds were smart they would go through past employees and call them and see why they left. In my case it was total harassment from the management. I worked at the Ranch and the first five years were great and then greed set in at the top levels and the bottom line is the students were the ones who have paid the price.There has been lots of favoritism and instructors with no technical knowledge. Friends hiring these people.We had some instructors with past criminal offences. I feel for the people who are honest and trying to make a living but the rest I hope Karma bites them in the a--.
It's about time the Feds show up, U.T.I. has been ripping these people off for far to long. Hope Kim goes to jail.
