Thread regarding Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. layoffs

Jackson Hewitt and Seasonal Layoffs

Is it true that Jackson Hewitt hires and then fires workers based on the seasonal demand - for example, if they are very busy during the tax time they would go ahead and hire people to help them do taxes and then they would lay them off once they do not need the.

If this is correct, does Jackson Hewitt have some kind of a policy to help alleviate this and compensate workers for the trouble, something like severance payments?

I am considering joining the company but I am concerned about this layoff situation - I have no insider knowledge and I am just curious.
