Wow.. your right. The new ML logo does resemble Diffen's. Looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Unfortunately Diffen's pockets are not as deep as MetLife's.
Letting Snoopy go was an incredibly poor decision. Having built that association over the last 30 years was expensive and brilliant. Snoopy provided the company with a beloved personality instead of a non-descript entity. By removing him, current and potential customers view the change as instability. It reflects what is happening in the corporate world these days with companies not having loyalty for their long term employees. It also suggests the company will not be loyal to its customers. But in the end, the executive leadership team remain wealthy no matter what happens to the company.
Snoopy has been replaced by a new stylized "M" logo. Looks very very similar to logo on www.diffen.com
