Zurich North America IT is implementing "Lean Management". It will remain to be seen if this is true Kaisan lean management intent on process improvement and employee empowerment or GE Jack Welch version where bottom 10% of employees are let go.

Or as I have seen and have had friends experience it, they transfer you to CSC and let them get rid of you.
Heard that about 20 percent of folks in product underwriting (including actuaries) were impacted by the recent layoffs in March.
Many people were cut in the US in the Risk Engineering department. Industrial hygiene, ergo and absence management teams now gone. Company uses third party for IH. Heard that nurse case managers laid off. Outsourcing will continue with more cuts in 2017.
They just went through massive reductions. Some say 20 percent were rif'd. Some areas saw a 30% decrease. Management will not confirm that they are done for 2017. I see this as becoming an annual event. The rif's were handled very poorly.
RCIS was purchased by Zurich last year and they seem intent on eliminating and outsourcing most of the IT jobs within the next year to 18 months. They are moving the data center to CSC in Illinois by May and we are seeing more CSC people around the company getting involved in learning the IT processes. Many of the current IT people are starting to look for jobs now, can't say I blame them. I hope this doesn't happen they way I think it will, but it sure appears to be headed down the outsourcing path for most of the IT positions at RCIS.
