Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

What does DXC stand for?

Have just read the official FAQs recently published to employees which confirms DXC is not an acronym...

"What does DXC stand for?

DXC is not an acronym. The name DXC is a reference to our mission, which is leading clients on their digital transformation journeys. The X is a reference to the company, being a force multiplier, enabling clients to seize the opportunities presented by today’s rapidly changing technologies."

WTF is digital transformation anyway? Computers have been digital since the beginning. It's all BS

This definition says nothing: Digital transformation refers to the changes associated with the application of digital technology in all aspects of human society. Digital transformation may be thought as the third stage of embracing digital technologies: digital competence → digital usage → digital transformation, with usage and transformative ability informing digital literacy.

Don't expect compensation... really dxc means nothing. Which is perfect in a culture that idolizes crap like the Kardashians. I am sickened by the never ending display of corporate greed.

they just think that DNA is fancy sh-- .. so they Xtrapulated the DXC from that instead of calling DNA .. Genius ..!!

wonder what happened to their marketing department .. guess they know that we are all wondering why they called it such as stupid name .. that is the buzz .. the buzz is working now ..

except we are all thinking lets get the hell out from dealing with this fluke before it flops ..!!

"So, if D is 500 and C is 100 and X is the multipler then:

D X C = 50,000.

I'm guessing that DXC is more likely a reference to the number of redundancies planned in 2017."

DXC is 590 in Latin (D=500 XC=90)

That's the problem with choosing a name which COULD be an acronym - customers will ask, and we don't have anything like a good answer.

I suspect the real answer is that it's just three letters that sound OK together and as a combination were available as a stock ticker.

Post ID: @LSr1Yqm-1gnl

It's the first question everyone asks me. What does it stand for. The FAQ is clear that it's not an acronym. So the next question is "well then what is it???"

The FAQ does a spectacularly bad job of equipping anyone to answer the second question with a straight face
