Employee Assistance Program

Has anybody here at HQ made use of the EAP?

Not feeling comfortable with my workplace environment and starting to have some physical effects from the stress here in Alameda.

Would you recommend it?

1 don't trust HR (they are there to provide CEO or executives insight when running down the who do we fire list)

2 call on your own, do not let others know about it

3 expect some backlash when you come to this board or any other forum really

I really preferred our coworker's response and explanation at @LWRZ07b-2oxs. At least he or she showed some common sense and compassion.

Maybe you should get a life away from the softball field or the Harleys? You might be able to think a bit more clearly and show some empathy for your coworkers. You'd likely be able to show that if you weren't on vacation every single week.

It's called HR department what did that person think was going to happen coming on a public forum especially with all the haters at this company how about this if your a full-time employee goes to your doctor pretty sure you have insurance go see a mental health provider maybe this is that person that thinks they can't take vacation so they're all stressed out it's called take a vacation already if not why don't you go out on stress leave they allow that as well boy I feel workers comp claiming coming LOL comical

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Glad we have decent employees here other than the two that commented lol and COMICAL

Guys - get a life - go play softball, hop on a Harley or just go be a jerk elsewhere.

If a coworker is too embarrassed to ask for help in person, I fail to see how poking fun at them online does anyone any good.

If you need help, EAP has a toll free line. It's confidential. Call them.

I can't say I've used it, but in most cases, an EAP will refer you to a counselor for some free sessions and insurance can pick up with costs if its something you think you need.

Hope this helps.
