Thread regarding Extreme Networks Inc. layoffs

Word out there is that more layoffs are pending as soon as they get done figuring out what their new strategy of the hour will be. The lousy part is that their website is posting jobs for the same as or very close to many of the positions they just let go. They keep playing games with their employees and struggling with internal politics instead of focusing on what could be a good product. Half the people think they will try to buy avaya, the other half think extreme is ripe to be taken over. If they could manage to make it so their sales people don't have to explain who the company is every time they meet a client they might even get some traction one of these days.

Is that Avaya acquisition still pending? Any progress? Good for Extreme? Good for Networking team?

With the pending acquisition of Avaya networking, they're simply thinning out the employees to make room for the new additions

They essentially wiped out their channel sales organization in the US. This would appear to be a way to lower expenses against falling revenue and margins

Sad, I thought they were doing much better but I guess not. It's never good to hear about a company failing.

The operation in Brazil was resumed to 1 AE and 1 SE, for while. It's the second time within two years. Fired over phone in five minutes in a single call meeting, some of them hired only 3 months ago... Country manager, AEs, SEs, channel managers... as customer what to expect from this company?
