Luxottica is super hierarchical organization, quite a bit rigid in that sense… Right now, at least here where I am there is no sense of loyalty at all.
You often see people with long tenures, with 10 years or more, being laid off and that’s not cool. Job cuts at Luxottica are so unpredictable and you cannot plan for it – it just happens and you see someone next to you being walked out – that’s depressing and demoralizing.
The company itself is well recognized and should be a leading fashion brand, but they act like they are in middle ages sometimes.
The business knows that the USA is their golden egg, they extract most of their profits here in the USA. The talent is average at best, you will not be working with cutting edge people with multiple talents, people check in and check out and go back home to their families. They do not live the brand like people did at some other place where I worked.
