Why dont we have anyone posting here - are people just afraid to say what they think and see? Or, are we beyond the point where we care anymore.

Looking at these old comments and it's like reading one of those prophecy books. So many layoffs in the past year. Billing and finance jobs outsourced to Bratislava, Monterey Mexico and now India with folks told they must train their replacements.
A good way to tell if your job is next to go is to go and look at the job postings. Enter in your position and see if it shows up as open on Monterrey for example.
If so, start planning now. Do you want to hold on when they announce a lame package or do you want to take off now for the bigger, better deal?
Pro Tip: Do not believe anything HR(just play dump)says about unemployment benefits or anything else. Call your local unemployment office, let them know you're about to be laid off and your job outsourced and see what they tell you.
Here is an update for the IT crowd - get the resumes out there. Nancy Berce is the new CIO and she destroyed Abbott Laboratories by outsourcing EVERYTHING to Wipro. I know I was supporting a local office for 8 months. She will bring outsourcing in to your firm too. Be prepared to abandon ship.
I got the ax at JCI in March. Working there was a miserable experience. I missed the paycheck and nothing else. It was actually a relief to be gone and I realize I should have left sooner on my own volition. Executives just kept pushing everyone to do more with less to the point where the people who kept their jobs may have been worse off than those given the boot. And this from a company always touted that its people that were its greatest asset. People are nothing more than equipment that gets scrapped when it doesn't meet their needs anymore.
Good luck propping up that stock, JCI, and in finding a way to turn a commodity industry like car batteries into a high-growth business.
Johnson Controls has VPs and decision makers that lack vision, and lack common sense. And now that they're all shopping their resumes around, they don't even care what absurd plan or change they sign-off on.
Molinaroli helped orchestrate the skating-out of $150 million in US taxes per year, by changing letterhead to say JC is based in Ireland, and was rewarded for his unpatriotic, selfish greed with around $200 million dollars, and early retirement.
And ignorantly ambitious managers in Ireland, saw ways to expand their egos by moving some functions overseas, to be under their supervision. It doesn't dawn on anyone how dumb some of the moves are. And incompetent or already resume-shopping VPs signed-off on it.
52 weeks of stock loss.
At least 50 people laid off in IT today/yesterday. Folks said they were completely blindsided.
I’d imagine there are more than just cuts coming? Makes you wonder how bad their 4th quarter earnings will be. Can’t wait to get in on that earning call.
Massive layoffs happening in Milwaukee and globally this week. It's definitely a new company. Best wishes to all affected.
I'm sure all the African Americans and old people will get laid off first! We work for a racist company and JCI only promotes and protect white people. If your black you don't stand a chance. We just waiting on the package again.
Tyco in Fishers IN outsourced a portion of their dialer team calls to a collection agency in New York. The typical response and explanation to employees was to take care of calls within a certain amount of delinquency and their long wait time.In my opinion I could see everything being outsourced and severance packages coming soon. Oh wait Tyco did that about two years ago and screwed everybody over as they offered bogus severance packages via FedEx to hundreds of employees that would decide to take a severance and a extra bonus severance. Tyco decided not to issue the severance packages due to "morale". I call BS... A Little bit later that's when Tyco joined forces with JCI however it's quite obvious that JCI took over everything. I see layoffs coming very soon. Let's not forget Johnson Controls laid off 150 people in Florida.
Well, 2017-43=1974, and 2017-1967=50.
So, you admit that she didn't have 50 years service, so there must have been a break in employment, somewhere. I'd guess that the employee handbook says that breaks in employment carry a penalty against time in service.
BTW, employee handbooks can carry the force of law, so pay attention when they send out an addendum, especially when that addendum details the separation pay you can expect when you get laid off. It can provide a warning before the hammer actually falls.
More cuts are coming, and you bet we are scared, so far its been management, but hear rumbling about office staff and whole offices
Just got a call from a JCI employee with almost 43years of service who was walked out thedoor without even getting chance to clean her personal items from her desk. Grab your coat and turn in your access card. She is one of 4 employees who got the let go in the latest round of layoffs from JCI. Apparently the Service business is in the tank so the in house staff got reduced by about 25%.
She also was told that her 43 years of service is really only 34 years which put her in the untenable position where she can't even get her full pension because her seniority date was 1975 instead of 1967 when she started.
so much for JCI taking care of its people who helped build the company into what it was prior to the recent Tyco merger.
