Thread regarding Quad/Graphics Inc. layoffs

Layoffs this week are ridiculous at Quad...Week of 2/27/2017...

Quad is laying off quality workers who have lots of experience to run their business effectively and have done so with great pride...AND they are rewarded with PINK SLIPS while their plant manager continue to line their pockets with being scared of protecting their base of talent resources.

Too Bad Quad is JUST a bottom line company who is sweeping lots under the rug so their stockholders do not see how they are really performing...GOOD LUCK ALL...

Any advertiser that prints with Quad Graphics; choose a strapped bundle, delivered to any newspaper, mail house, or any other distributor, and count it.

Multiply the difference of what you ordered, from what was delivered.

Then tell your legal team.

This happened when they purchased the Quebecor/World-Color Plants. Those of us who were employed by QW plants call this the "Quebecor Cancer". It is the same primary gaggle of elites who negotiated their 'terms' with Joel Quadracci on the purchase of QW that kept them at the helm. They have done this very same thing in the past, swallowing up other printing companies, over and over again. Sometimes they take on the new company's name and sometimes not. Their primary goal is to line their elite pockets and treat those, whom Harry respected so much, like garbage.

That cancer will eat through Quad, just as it has countless other companies over the years, until Quad has to be bailed out (i.e. purchased) by another company who will then contract the cancer and the cycle will continue.

They are the Langoliers of the printing world. The Quad that Harry built, that once was the envy of the printing industry, is no longer; it was sold off by his sons, piece by piece. Now the supervisors have their boots on the necks of the pressmen, driving any remnant of skilled labor away. Anyone without Wisconsin blood running through their veins is routinely reminded of how disposable they are. And the terms 'benefits' and 'perks' are something only management has access to.

Once all the profit has been bled from the companies heart and soul, Joel et. al. will walk away - set for life, their children and children's children, will be set for life - and the elite board who consumes printing companies will continue their siege on the printing world.

All the while Harry spins endlessly in his grave and the Gold Tag Club laughs at the very people who make the company run.

QUAD does more than just close plants. You apparently are not in the know! They laid off experienced workers - How many safety offers did they lay off this year, more than you know about I am sure! Ever wonder why they did that? One can only wonder why.....Any guesses....

Quad graphics is hitting rock bottom! Not meeting dead lines, bad quality and firing experienced folks to pay for cheap labor that has no clue what's going on!! Take your business else where before you waste your money

Smart idea....I think not of putting our hard earned 401K retirement on the line in the stock market.

What the heck are these big wigs thinking. More money and greed, my fellow former employees. Run away and get out while you still can. They don't give two cents too the employees anymore or quality. Now it's quantity and speed that makes more and more cash in there pockets.

Only people that have been laid off in the 5 years i have worked for Quad were those affected by a plant closure. Every one of them were offered positions in other plants but that may have then required relocation. There are many in my plant that transferred from closed plants. I therefore rate your comments and complaints as "pants on fire"

This happened to me in 2011. Hartford, WI. plant laid off 10 employees 8 of which had 20+ years of seniority and did the same at other WI plants at the same time. They somehow get away with these little reductions without having to make public or notify the state. They cannot survive if they continue to layoff senior experience with entry level new hires. I feel bad for current employees and friends who are still employed there because a select amount of those will one day be walked out of the plant with notice or justification. This companies culture has done a 180 since going public (publicly traded stock market) it is all currently about showing a profitable bottom line and Quad will continue to do what it has to, despite the historically low moral of current senior employees and their coworkers.

SO TRUE!!!! QUAD is just a bottom line company and are no longer concerned for the safety of their employees or quality of their products to their customers - WAKE UP Stockholders - Do you really want to invest in a company like this?
