AT&T will close its Birmingham Collections Center this summer, affecting 130 employees starting in June.
AT&T said the consolidation is a result of a reduction in call volumes. It is attempting to place as many of these employees in other positions in the company as possible. Those it is unable to place will receive a severance package, a representative said.
