Looks like merchandisers are being demoted at the store level, they're now under Store Managers where previously it was a partnership to run the store together. Appears to come with a pay cut and now they have to work weekends. Many left the company in our district because they didn't like the new terms--fair enough. Lots of Display Artists laid off. They haven't worked out severance pay though, just said they'll find out later. Should've planned that before announcing layoffs.
very true saying "everything is shrouded in mystery at this time." frustrating and does not instill much confidence in the future of this company. our store experienced changes and anyone who was involved was told to "not say anything." any changes so far have been kept very secretive and are only coming to the surface by those employees who decided to not listen to that. it's hard to feel like you have much power when working for such a large company, but the power we do have is to keep one another informed!
I believe they are eliminating a "leader" at every store level. Instead of having a Store Manager and a Store Merchandising Manager they are selecting one (could be either) to be the head of the store. I believe the other is being offered either a demotion or a severance package?? So far they have kept all employees in the dark which is saddening. Everything is shrouded in mystery at this time.
Positions were "eliminated" in management and new ones created. The managers were then offered new (lesser) positions with a huge pay cut...(constructive dismissal?) Friend was told over the phone after having a glowing review a month ago (Anthro: was this not on your radar then?). Termination pay to be decided (?) (Why weren't they prepared with all this??) Appalled at the unprofessionalism of such a large organization. How disappointing but says much about your culture and probably why your sales results are so incredibly poor. It all starts at the top...
Store Managers, DA's and Merchandisers were laid off. Some were given an option of a demotion, but not many.
A Number of display artists were laid off today. Not given choice to stay.
Merchandisers were not laid off their jobs changed (now have to work weekends) and they were given the option to accept the change or take severance and leave.
some store merchandisers were laid off today
What's a DDC
Not true. "All" is a strong word and alternative job offers were made to most where jobs could translate
All DDCs were laid off.
Any layoffs store level?
