Thread regarding Wolverine World Wide Inc. layoffs

Layoffs Handling Suggestion

I wish that the Wolverine leadership would have done more to address the impact this week would have on productivity and emotional status. Work is not getting done, and any meetings, nobody speaks about any of it.

Yet the elephant in the room is crushing morale and the ability to function. I can't believe meetings are even being conducted this week. Management absolutely needed to pro-actively manage all aspects of the impact of this downsizing.

What a load of sh--. Not one time in the last several years has been there been a decision made with the employees or the consumers in mind. The ONLY thing that matters is the shareholders. WWW bought the Boston based brands a few years ago and doubled the size of the company, but makes NO more money than it did prior to the buyout. This is how they fix the problem. On the backs of loyal employees.

It's just a job. Started a year ago, cannot complain - survived so far, and if they let me go, I'll just move on. Layoffs happen and they are doing what they have to do to make profits. Every business, including WWW needs to make money and layoffs are just one way of making sure that happens.
