I was notified 3 days before I was laid off. Afterwards, I found out my boss knew at least 3 weeks prior to that. It would have been nice to have been able to use my vacation time or to have been able to look for another job at Dell. Bad management indeed!
Many let go last Friday, wish them to move to something more exciting with ease.
The only time I hear of Quest in the news is when they do the quarterly layoffs - they have no vision; the products all s--- -vs- competition...The image of this brand with customers is in the toilet...make as much as you can - use the corp card ! expense everything ! ride that train until it crashes~
There will be more blood, sinking ship, clueless management. Zero communication channel, mistrust with wonderful qualities like this how still or grow
With budget cuts , Quest Software is pretty expensive to implement. Hedgies need their returns. layoff is the only solution to recoup the cost. Lot of dead weight when Dell took over the Quest. Company needs to shrink 30 to 40 percent including sales folks , Inside and Outside.
Is it truly across the board, I'm hearing only (or mostly) Data Protection/KACE affected ... not unexpected given the Revenue/Head contribution so much lower than other BUs. Also seemingly no package this round , just statutory rights ... that is basically nothing in most places.
Quest's brand as viewed by the outside is just DOA...I worked there after the acquisition and for the first year the slow trickle of layoffs were present...I feel sad for all that still have no choice but to stick it out but eventually you have to go...The products can't compete - dont kid yourselves; the band is playing and the ship is sinking...
Quest SW, KACE are dying products. Lack of forward thinking. Dell killed the brands and the people suffer
why anyone works there is beyond me....
