Thread regarding Ericsson layoffs

Rigid

I dont want to trash Ericsson too much as they are a good company. After almost two years here I have not witnessed any layoffs, but I did hear about it - everyone talks about it all the time but it's not a big issue as this site would want you to believe it. My main complaint about the company is that the key people come from Sweden, most key decisions are made in Sweden too - that's OK if you just want to do your 9 to 5 and check out once you leave the office.

But if you want to create and contribute this can be very demoralizing... Its not easy to move to other teams no matter how good you are as decisions are, again, controlled in Sweden and unless they know you dont have a good chance here - so, this causes rigidity, low promo opportunities, etc. You are stuck...\

Ericsson has been laying off people under the radar, just like all the other high tech companies. Heard more layoffs today.

Not much time left. Who is going to buy the fuel ($$$) until 5G has business case strong enough to launch?

We've grew too big - decisions are slow, it's political etc. This kills large companies. E will have to reinvent itself, we used to be good at that.
