its actually quite funny how many people feel entitled.
it has not been communicated to us, unless i missed something. everyone is still guessing how much of a severance if any will be given.
It's been communicated to us, in writing. They can't back out of that at this point. The resulting lawsuits would cost more than the severances.
I'd be really surprised if they only take 20% of the employees in our department. The employees themselves are already only 30% of the people doing the work.
But I agree. Let's get this show on the road already. The waiting is killer.
severance this severance that, there is nothing in writing that states a severance!
I have heard that maybe only 20% of rice folks will land at EQT. So if they layoff 80%, then they will have to file the WARN notice w the state. That will be posted online and indicate how many will be affected and when. The warn notice needs to be filed 60 days in advance.
Good luck to everyone. I have a feeling that 70-80% are being fired. Thankfully the severance packages are very good.
Thanks for posting this. I am grateful and thankful that Rice was thoughful in the generous severance package that has been offered. It is a blessing as many people with other companies are not even offered one when faced wih a layoff. However, i will admit I am going a bit nuts pondering the possibilities and wish they would rip off the bandaid. I hate being in limbo. I know nothing and only rumor iI have heard is that they might layoff EQT employees as well. Best wishes to all.
