Microsoft Severance Payment Question

A question regarding severance - not sure if this is the right place to ask but here it goes anyway. If I am let go and if I am given a 60 day notice per the State of WA reqs, would I be able to get the severance if I find a job before the 60 day period is over? Or do I need to time the job search in a way that no job offer is extended/accepted prior to the end of the 60 day period.

I'd appreciate any responses.

I believe both responders are wrong having worked at Microsoft (and seen others go through the big layoff a few years ago), you have to stay on through the 60-day WARN period to keep your severance.

And for the one poster, Microsoft severance for the worker bees is one week's salary for every six months of work - not bad compared to other places but not as rich as outsiders think. In addition, that WARN timeframe is subtracted from your severance as no employer, by law, has to pay you severance. So, if you've been at Microsoft for four years or less, you're kind of screwed.

Severance is yours to keep regardless of whether you find a job or not. So hopefully, you will double dip and make a killing. Good luck, my friend.

Even the COBRA is yours to keep I think if MSFT offers for a few months after your termination date. That's what I understand from my severance package.
