I'm truly not surprised by this announcement, we've had layoffs looming over our heads for years now. The only thing that's strange is that they're doing it like this, all at once, usually they lay off a few people here and there to make sure it stays under the radar.
I've been here for over a decade, and I've seen this company go downhill slowly but surely. The management's no help, we have a few people who are good at what they do, but they're not enough to make up for all those who have no idea what to do. Of course, it's the members of the second group who usually have the ear of the above level, which means that we're stuck stuck with them and their bed practices.
I hope Eli Lilly will turn around and go back to the great company it once was, but I don't see it happening any time soon. Good luck to all, following months will be even less fun than usual.
