Thread regarding Harman layoffs

Way too many Senior Managers/Executives!!!

Harman should start cutting in this area - there is a ton of overhead and many Sr. Managers and Execs that just walk around and show slideware. Any company that operates like this bleeds money with very little value returned - I am not sure how they are planning these layoffs but they should be looking into this ASAP.

Also, we have to start investing into new stuff, things have slowed down quite a bit and it'll not be a pretty picture once this starts to reflect on sales.

This all depends on the group - some are very top heavy indeed. Some are less so...

I was let go last month. During my tenure at Harman I received no training whatsoever. We were all thrown into the fire – the project was difficult - quoted late, many months behind. The project did not have enough resources, key requirements were missing – yet we were marching forward. The engineering process was weak at least, there was no tractability, software design was lacking… Overall it was a horrible experience… And when things went south I was the one to blame. Sorry, I know it’s not layoff related but I felt I had to vent – I landed here as I heard about layoffs and I truly wish that all of you guys do just fine and that you manage to avoid any cuts that this bad management has in mind…
