Essilor of America is doing a large layoff this morning of only American employees. No French expats were terminated because Essilor is French owned. Most all of the layoffs are long term, upper level and older aged employees.

Deja Vu - another round of mass layoffs at Essilor. Again, mainly older and higher paid American workers. It had all of the tact, compassion and understanding of a firing squad.
What I don't understand is...why isn't this in the news? Wouldn't you think laying-off 70 people from one of the best companies to work for in Dallas would be news-worthy?
PRO:
Awesome company to work with and Very nice environment.
CON:
Work wise, every one concern about their survival,So within team no one reveal what they are doing or share anything work related things.Even Manager's are not communicative especially in IT. Due to lack of communication among group(s) for 2 minutes fix will take 2 weeks of time.
Confirmed. Mass Layoffs in Dallas corporate office. Good to know Essilor is still deemed to be "Best Places to Work in Dallas". However, heard Essilor paid hefty fee to Dallas Business Journal to win the prize. It's all about appearance not a reality.
Thanks
