I forgot to include Adtalem, formerly DeVry. BlackRock also owns more than 6 million shares of ATGE.

All these so called colleges are just money making machines that spew out useless degrees. So sad what has happened to higher education. Not everyone should go to college, just like not everyone needs to play in the NFL.

So some itty-bitty college closed? So did the corner store a few blocks down from my place. Couldn't make the rent with the few items they sold. What is news about that?

Camden, to the point of a poster on the EDMC forum, who on Wall Street CARES about the people who attend the colleges you listed? Nobody cares about poor people unless the press can milk their plight for a headline or two, minorities (again, headline fodder), under-educated poor minorities or your pets - the VA losers who get shoved out the base gates each year because the military can't use them anymore....

Who cares? You care. I get it. But you don't seem to have the power, the clout, or the money to do anything about it. A blog and trying to stir the pot will get you nowhere.

Oh, small private colleges: The liberal art education snowflakes who attended those will be just fine.

@PwPLMKw-1vfi, it's not only for-profit colleges. It's community colleges, HBCUs, small private colleges, and third tier public colleges.

Yes Camden. Wallstreet pulls the strings of the muppets that are running these S#$t Shows. Goldman Sachs pushed the deregulation through needed for this for-profit market to take off, put their peeps on the UoP board of directors to make sure these educator ding dongs in charge didn't muck this up and we were off to the races. Wallstreet is making sure they can milk this for a bit longer before they pull the plug and invest elsewhere. If you really wanted to see where this mess is going - watch exactly what you are watching. I know, you are jumping up and down and going 'see, this is corrupt and wrong and let's do something and fix this'. It's sweet of you. But you won't do crap against these guys. The masters of the universe so to speak. So keep watching this to simply get a heads up when the p--p will hit the fan and this industry collapses.
