Heard that total number of layoffs in this 3rd or possibly now 4th round was 220+ corporate wide late Oct / early Nov. There were 2 rounds in May / June of a couple hundred and sporatic firings and forced early retirements since. But all the execs keep telling us, it's business as usual. Yeah, right.

I agree with one of the previous reply's. The morale is at an all time low, and has been for some time. When you start with the hiring freezes and no chance of a pay increase you really get into the heads of your employees. What is next? I am guessing our PTO will be the next to be slashed. I enjoy reading the emails coming through telling us how transparent they want to be, yet we are not being told anything. We ask questions and are being told nothing. I understand they aren't going to tell us much, but if you tell employees you are all for transparency then be transparent!! Lay it all out for the loyal hard working employees that have given up years of their lives for this company. Some of us work 6 days of week and have no "work life balance". You owe your loyal employees so much more!!
I’ve been an employee of West (formerly InterCall) for almost 20 years. This is a time of complete uncertainty. We have no idea of our 3rd quarter or 4th quarter numbers as we are no longer public. Gone are the days of company wide conference calls reviewing our info and being transparent. Instead, we have rare meetings where company info is glossed over as we are all the “unintelligent employees” that higher management considers us to be. I hope that Apollo realizes that the West Point and Southern employees is where this all started. There would not be anything without these talented and loyal employees. Stop sending everything to the Philippines and India. Keep jobs in America. Stop paying management in Chicago and Omaha 10 times more than the actual employees in the field. I guarantee this management doesn’t even meet with their teams on a quarterly or annual basis. I personally have not heard from my manager, director or VP in over a year. We have no team meetings. Communication has ALWAYS been the biggest issue with West. Employees have no idea what we offer, what we do, what teams do, what is in place. I know our customers feel this even worse. West is in a state of confusion. What is our goal? What is our mission? Everything is frozen. Although I am a loyal employee, I know there is no future with this company. Employees will need to decide if they will stay onboard or go down with this ship. I hope Apollo stops listening to those that have been in power without being connected to employees and customers. I hope they start listening to those in the line of fire.
I’ve worked at West 4+ years and haven’t seen morale this low. 401k match cuts, pay freeze, Management hiring freeze with more to come.
Benefits will continue to be cut back until people leave. The economy is booming, difficult to keep talented employees that enjoy West.
If they start to cut pay or reduce PTO, turnover will reach a level which may be difficult to overcome. Apollo is doing what they need to do for now, hopefully by the end of 2018 things will turn around.
I'm a manager with 10+ years experience in one of the organizations that recently announced it was centralizing across the lines of business. I was told under the new structure I would go from having 1 direct report to 12+ without a change in pay. This isn't an exaggeration or an isolated event as I have discussed with VP. I guess this is one way they can get people to quit and avoid paying a severance. Because I can't see how it's better management/leadership with the job I have.
I have been with the company for 12 years. I work for WAM(Omaha) which is part of West corp. We were supposed to move to the main campus the beginning of January, however we have now been told we are not moving. There has been mostly upper management let go at this point. There isn't any communication at this point either. I just find it odd that since September they have been talking about our move and we were told we were moving, boxes were brought in the same day and then last week now we are not moving. Very odd.
I work for West and it's not that bad. People are exaggerating. Have seen MOSTLY upper management get trimmed.
That's what we were told right up until the day they came in and announced our office would be permanently closed effective Dec 31, 2017
