Thread regarding General Mills Inc. layoffs

What happened to team work at General Mills?

Seriously, team work was one of the most important aspects of work at General Mills. What happened to that?

There is no team work anymore, at all. We have shifted to completely independent work environment. Communication is non-existent.

I can't figure out what brought this change around, except maybe for the fact that with so many layoffs, it's easier to have a bunch of people working interdependently then having teams losing members and figuring out how to make up for it.

Which, in my humble opinion, is crap reason. Team work always brings better results. Maybe if we had more of it right now, we wouldn't need all the layoffs we are having.

At the General Mills I work at it's all due to the new pay system. It's a all about me system and they wonder why injuries go up.

Our pay system is based on accomplishment trackers. When it should be based on how well we ran, waste numbers and avc. The pay systems needs to be fixed on our end.
