20% of the Philly headquarter workforce was eliminated on 1/10. Saw many people let go as well as some high profile people up the organizational ranks. Either some investors weren’t happy or they needed to shrink headcount to squeeze the leftover staff in the new smaller headquarters in Q4 2018.

I hope people don’t get ptsd from this
I busted my rear working mega hours, 90+ per week, my days off, etc to get a major account set up. My boss took the pleasure of flying out to help 'support' during the set up, a complete waste of time and money. Long and short, the account was ahead of schedule prior to my week off on vacation. Performance was outstanding.
Upon my return off vacation, my boss said he needed to get with me to discuss the next steps. 2 hours into my day, I was told my position was eliminated.
Foss has only one focus- to increase EPS to stockholders. He has done so successfully by removing the most important part of the company....people. Account loss erosion will continue with the loss of these assets...not expenses. Great way to lead Foss!!
I saw the writing on the wall 2 years ago & left after working there for over 30 years. I see that was a good decision. Very sad how management has destroyed the company. They treat employees like dirt & work them like dogs. Very sad. It used to be a great company to work for.
I was laid off from Aramark in January 2018. Aramark is a Sh** company and they screw their employees. They look as if they are trying to build trust, then can employees to reduce headcount. I have seen this time and time again. There were more layoffs a couple of weeks ago. At the time they only let two people go. One for medical reasons from falling at work and the other for standing up for what is right. The only one in our dept not laid off was the wonder boy who is a big brown noser.
All you need to do is look at revenue growth vs profit line. They can’t grow because their solutions for all lines is really bad, they have zero innovative ideas, and leadership cares only about looking in the mirror. They cut their way to returns which is so obvious each quarter. Meanwhile their primadonna CEO Foss jets all over going to games and putting himself on TV. What a joke - so glad I left years ago when they brought this pseudo-leader on board. He’s more interested in keeping his girlfriends happy than focusing on his employees and customers. They will merge with another company or be swallowed by Compass soon enough. Too bad Foss et al will walk away with millions.
One year ago I had to sit in a meeting where the CFO whines and cries to the entire management group because Hillary didn’t win and how bad things were with the “current administration”. Then in the wake of huge tax cuts we are told that they are going to reinvest that savings into the company instead of giving back to employees like other companies. Then they lay a ton of people off. Is it possible that the CFO is still butt hurt because Hillary lost?
Like a few others said there was another round of cuts last weeK. I was let go on on the 28th shortly after our boss pulled our group aside and assured us that we were all safe moving forward.
It’s a mess there still. There will be another round at the end of April and possibly one final round sometime in June. They fired one long time employee but then immediately told him he had to stay on for a month to help transition if he wanted his severance. Then one director was forced to tell multiple employeees they were fire on Wednesday and also had to go through the pain of the last round as well only to be cut himself on Thursday. They couldn’t spare him having to go though that sh--. Instead they had him do the dirty work then let him go. The next Aramark connect should be a hoit

Today there were a bunch of lay offs.
I was unfortunately part of it.
I worked for Aramark for 30 years. It is unfortunate for being a Fortune 500 the way they treat their employees. One two choices , termination or quit due to poor working enviorment and safety concerns. Aramark should have relocated from Philadelphia to a third world country where they belong.
I worked there for 15 years as an Account Executive and went out on paternity leave with twin girls . I was told to just use my vacation days because I had a lot. Once I got back I was released. They knew what they were going to do an coached me not to file for fmla. I hope this company folds.

I was part of the cut. I just wish that employees were fed the truth instead of being told garbage during those Connect meetings where the C-suite clapped for themselves and gave the perfunctory thank you to the front line.
And remember in the next Aramark connect meeting Eric Foss will come and say a big a-- "Thank you for all you do"
True I was part of this 'down-sizing' and it is not because the company is hurting for money. They did very well this year! They are just trying to please Wall Street, get bigger management bonuses and avoid a cram of people into the new building. They use you up and spit you out! Good Riddance!!
My hubs got cut too. My big concern with him finding a new job is competing against his own peers if it was really 20 percent, that is a HUGE blow.
My boss was laid off as well. The excuse was that this was a “cost savings” initiative. Very short sighted.

My wife was laid off.
