Do Met even have a presence in Charlotte anymore? There’s a small Group call center, and a handful of legacy folk in the Brighthouse building I think, but I think that’s it. I bet the NC state legislature feel awesome at giving Met all the tax breaks in 2013 for all these Charlotte and Cary jobs, and now only Cary is a going concern.
Direct was a pretty good and innovative part of the org, and was moving forward too, but individual insurance wasn’t their thing anymore, so off we went. To better things too, and the package was good. No attempt was made to re-house employees to other parts of the org. Was with Met for 15 years and am happy I’m out to be honest. The grass sometimes is greener. It is nice to read Kandarian is going. During his extended stay he turned Met from an insurance company to I guess a group insurance company, and lost Snoopy.
Standard means golden parachutes for officers and peanuts for the minions. The whole dept clear out is extreme. They could have just trimmed the top layer of uber comp’d fatheads. They did not work a full day EVER, so the new suggestion of no early leavers is going to force some to work their first full day in years.
it seems to be all teams supporting Direct. The marketing team that supports direct was gone too. I think it's mostly in Charlotte, but there's likely others that are gone too.
packages are standard but have to stay employeed until 3/15... can't leave early.. which is not cool.
Is this in N.C. only? Or is it in other offices? Partners? Or just the Direct team as it remained (barebones).
What's the package like?
