Thread regarding Eaton Corp. layoffs

Stuck between a rock and a hard place

Working for Eaton is a catch 22 when you’re a single parent. Work/life balance is meaningless especially when you are expected to meet deadlines towards the end of the month. We sacrifice hours away from our children for weeks at a time and I have yet to see anyone in management thank us for our dedication (verbal or monetarily).

The company preaches work/life balance but I haven’t seen very much of it. The problem is that for many single parents (myself included) refusing to work overtime could result in losing my job - something I can’t afford to happen. As I said, catch 22.

Thank you for all of your hard work. It is taught not to offered gratitude because the employee will want a raise or promotion after you have done this.
