Thread regarding Hess Corp. layoffs

300 to be laid off?

This article says that 300 people will lose their jobs in this round of layoffs, which is significantly lower than the numbers we've been hearing lately. Any chance this guy is actually correct?

Layoffs began the Wk of Jan 8th for some groups, but the majority happened on Jan 18th & 19th.

289 employees is correct and quite frankly pathetic. People leaving should be glad to be getting off of this sinking ship. A buyout or a CEO stepping down was scary for Execs...they took drastic measures, and the ones that kept this company afloat (non-management) paid the price.

Does anyone have the breakdown of how many/ what roles?

That's ~300 Hess employees. Does not include contractors, which I believe will add another 100-150.

Yes, continuing Wednesday. Lots of surprises today - decades of experience leaving.
