Since I started working here I was told that this is a great job to expand on my skill set but career growth would be hard to attain. I don’t have a clue on how long it takes to move up the ladder, but from what I’m seeing in my fellow employees it’s not that the opportunities aren’t there - it’s because favoritism runs rampant.
There are definite cliques in my department but what huge company doesn’t have them? I’m seeing management play favorites and it never bothered me. I just do my job and go home. But I see my coworker who deserved a promotion get passed up and watch as it is given to someone who isn’t as knowledgeable or hardworking. Quite frankly, the person who got the promotion doesn’t benefit the company at all. I guess the old saying is true. It’s not what you know but who you know.
