Thread regarding Kimberly-Clark layoffs

Anybody actually surprised by this news?

I'm seriously wondering if there is one Kimberly-Clark employee who is sitting at home or work right now and thinking "wow, this is a surprise." Everybody knew something like this was coming.

This company has been off the rails for years now. We have managers who don't know what they want nor how to get it. They give us wrong input, make us do things the (obviously) wrong way, and then they blame us when it doesn't work out.

We have new systems implemented constantly, but the more complicated the system, less training will be provided. Why is this, I don't know. Not to mention the way contract and partner staff is being treated.

All of this is just scratching the surface, but I have a feeling that I am preaching to the quire here, so I will not continue.

I just want to wish good luck to those who will be affected by these layoffs (me included.)

I am sitting at home trying to decide if I want to push the button...30 years! Truly believe if I stay will go through this again within 5 years!

I don't think anyone was surprised by the layoff announcement (in general) - i think many were stunned once they heard the actual number (5K) - things are moving in a wrong direction though - how can you tell me that we made so much money but we still need to lay people off

You had me at treatment of contract staff... No matter how long we work a position (been here for over five years,) we have no chance of becoming a permanent employee... People are being hired left and right, but not us... There is no room for us... Screw KC...
