Thread regarding Adtalem layoffs

DeVry Lawsuits

If DeVry gets sued for acts in committed as part of Adtalem, who will be liable? Looks to me that DeVry is still using false and misleading information.

Lisa Wardell has really managed to do a lot of damage in a short amount of time. I wonder if she will give herself a bonus?

Adtalem should be held liable for any and all mismanagement of DeVry as they were the ones in charge of running it into the ground for short-term profiteering. With these funds they were able to raise capital to buy more successful international education businesses in order to build a more robust company. That doesn’t excuse the poor treatment of employees and students in DeVry under AdTalem. And even though they have tried to throw away their founding core company, like relegating a senile parent to a nursing home and never visiting, they actually still haven’t completed the transfer as far as public knowledge. DeVry is getting shredded into whatever salvageable components remain and it’s a safe bet that there won’t be much left once the 90 day prohibition on mass layoffs after the transfer passes. AdTalem wants to get rid of DVU as a “discontinued operation” but all of the management acts that led to its failure were designed by ATGE as long-term strategy.

@avwv Just as every other organization would backfill a position of that grade. Or do you think "Truly, only a guilty party would hire a lawyer?" I mean... do you really find it fantastic that they hired a new corporate counsel to replace the last one? In that line, are you surprised they got a new CEO after they sh---canned The Hamburgler?

Man, I dislike this organization as much as the next ex-employee, but sometimes I really want to ask you to indicate on this doll where DeVry touched you.

Here’s the real question. What do you think the new ownership is thinking right this second.

DeVry is continuing to mislead potential students. For example, they plan on closing campuses, but use the convenience of campus locations as a selling tool. The website is also misleading in terms of costs, financial assistance, and educational technology. The biggest con is that DeVry enrollment people say that the school is "military friendly." The truth is that DeVry has the highest percentage of complaints from the GI Bill Feedback System.
