Thread regarding Shaw Communications Inc. layoffs

Shaw is trying to hide layoffs

And they aren't the only one. This is going on at MANY companies right now, including TELUS and Rogers. Many of you know it's happening but you don't know why.

I'll tell you why, whether you believe it or not.

The reason is because all corporations are desperately trying to push the "Economy is BOOMING!" narrative that the govt is selling. So if it's booming, why are there so many layoffs? And don't tell me this is "normal" because 1000 layoffs at Shaw is not normal, there's a problem.

Folks, these companies want to bury their dead so the world doesn't find out, so don't let them. Tell others, send an email to the media, do something.

Telus, Rogers, Shaw are all in government regulated 'oligopolies' okay

Telus used to crown corporation and you had life long job if you got a job a telus in the 70's. and profits was huge --no competition.

there is no growth in the telecom sector. internet is plateau, and video is now competition from video streaming at less money. like Netflix. they want same or more dividends. and want share price growth.

Shaw and many companies are trying to boost dividend checks in 'no growth' time in their business.

The cable business was small family business in the 70's and 80's and 50% of Americans and Canadians didn't even have cable.

Now in the 90's there was huge growth. and became billion dollar companies and owning channels, internet. so even a small 10% reduction in wages is 100 million or more. says the CFO who gets BONUS or saving money(layoffs, outsourcing)

In most areas you don't all the technicians that are hired. It is a voluntary lay off. You're given an option.
