Thread regarding Microsoft Corp. layoffs

Microsoft - when is the new round layoffs scheduled for?

Do you know? When is the next round going to happen - we usually do one before the fiscal year and it's coming up quickly.

Seems like a long over due pivot away from trying to force Windows 10 licenses down customers throats - given that most every other OS update is free that business seems dead. Indeed building an update mechanism that causes computers to lock up for long periods of time and endlessly restart themselves raises deeper questions over engineering practices.

I would imagine come July we will see a bunch of RIF going on as the feet on the ground are swapped out for new. WDG is fat with headcount that at this point has no purpose and makes no sense. Some will be sent on a death march toward cloud to see who can survive the transition, while others will be left to rot on the ghost ship that Windows will become. In some ways a layoff might be easier...

Would doubt now if there won't be mass layoffs after Terry's exit. Good for the much larger organization, WDG was just a victim of poor leadership at every level. Sorry for the good people in the group, however good people outweighed by poor managers
