The department I work in is scheduling interviews for people with the same skills that people just let go have. Looks like another situation of laying off older workers to be replaced with younger and cheaper.

This is illegal in my country - Nielsen talk about fairness and openness I hope they get reported and fined for these practices - and its why they have massive HR teams full of young ladies who look good but do very little. Company results due very shortly no place to hide so on 28th it better improve or else the stock will collapse again no doubt.
Nielsen never met an employee they didn't want to lay off.
