Thank you for sharing that! I was also recently laid off but have fallen into a depression that I haven’t been able to recover from. I needed to hear something positive and am very happy for you.
I got layed off a few months ago. It did not know it the time, but it was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I took a few weeks to get my head on straight and now I am fully employed in a new, better paying, better environment. I love what I'm doing again.
Have faith in your own abilities. There is life beyond Enbridge.

I am not sure about you guys but everyday I have been browsing for job openings in either IPLE or SCM coz the IPLE person here said they are the most important and can’t be laid off and SCM thinks they are also the most important and will soon rule over the galaxy hahahahaha. I wanted to move within these units coz everyone else outside them are disposable.
I’m neither a female engineer nor in IPLE. BN knew exactly what he was doing and actually enjoyed throwing me under the bus.
That would not have happened if you were a woman in engineering. On the contrary, you would be elevated on a pedestal

I have to agree BN is a very solid and decent ELT leader and person. At least he keeps his ego is in-check compared to most of the other over paid assh_les up there.

Agreed. BN is honest and genuine and down to earth. Not to mention a vocal advocate for women in engineering roles. He would turn Enbridge around for the better and also be an influential leader in women's equality.
Why the hate on BN? He's the most sincere/non-a--hole one up there IMO.. he's got my vote for next CEO if we had to choose one of current ELT!!

I don't know why this IPLE person feels elite, but in their defense the group does help us out alot. Without them I wouldn't have any projects to develop and without work...you do the math. I am not going to bite the hands that feed me, but let's be real nobody is too valuable for layoffs including the vaunted IPLE group.

I understand from a reliable source that IPLE will take a big hit at the end of March. Self-important employees will go first.

In order to meet targets, AM must raise revenue, sell assets or layoff other assets. I am guessing the easiest is to layoff. I just wish they had a better idea of who worked and who kissed a## to get the rating they received.
Enbridge is not competitive and the debt burden is too high. More layoffs to come. I don't know if it will be March 28 or later but layoffs will be a reality.
I’m fairly confident Al clearly stated the potential for more layoffs was a reality. Even if he had said “no more layoffs are coming,” which he did not, you’d be a fool to actually believe such a statement.

IPLE = TROLL
A message to the ELT. Layoffs are unfortunate but if they are required to keep our great company going then they have to be done. But it is imperative that the decisions are fully researched and not generalized across all groups. The danger in the latter approach is the risk of losing top tier talent and breaking up high performing teams such as IPLE. If you need to streamline a car you can take from certain components and the car will still run. But taking from IPLE is like removing the engine from the car. The very essence of a car being able to perform as a car, depends on the engine and IPLE is no different. We have years of knowledge, skills and experience and meddling with that would be a critical error with crippling consequences. I urge you to pursue alternative methods rather than give up valuable blue chip assets from the Enbridge talent pool.
