Thread regarding Toys "R" Us layoffs

For those hoping Amazon will save them

I'm sorry, but that will not happen. Yes, Amazon is truly looking to buy some TRU stores, but not for the reasons people here might be hoping.

But the company is not interested in keeping the Toys 'R' Us stores running. They would buy some of the shutdown store and turn them into their own space.

Sears people think Amazon already has plans to save them.

AMZN is so unlikely savior - they are going after high end outfits (e.g., Whole Foods) - my bet is that they will buy Nordstrom's within next 6 months.

The TRU express stores don't even exist. They were failed seasonal stores, just like what Kb Toys wants to revive,

Same thing was said about empty Sears stores and Amazon didn't buy any.

Can't imagine Amazon is interested in big boxes as showrooms. If they are looking for showrooms, they are probably more interested in the small TRU Express stores. Unless they are looking to do Prime Now fulfillment out of them...
